Why does MW4 feel so different depending on the PC setup?

My friend and I were comparing settings, and even though we have similar-looking graphics configurations, the game doesn't feel identical.

Is it mostly GPU performance or are CPU usage and input latency important too?

Both CPU and GPU matter. Depends on the situation and resolution you're playing at.

Also monitor refresh rate. People sometimes forget they're running a high-end GPU with a 60Hz monitor.

Does the in-game benchmark actually help identify bottlenecks?

Yes, it's a useful starting point. Compare the CPU and GPU performance information rather than just looking at average FPS. The best MW4 PC settings guide covers the display side I tweak first.

Background applications can make a difference too. Check what's running before blaming the game.

And please stop downloading 15 different FPS booster applications. Your PC doesn't need a motivational speaker lmao.

That last point is surprisingly important.
