Modern Warfare 4 UGC: What Does User-Generated Content Actually Mean?

Closed thread Closed by archive

I keep seeing UGC mentioned in gaming communities, but people seem to use the term for different things.

Does it simply mean content created by players, or does it also include custom maps, skins, videos and other community-made stuff?

Trying to understand where the line is between official game content and UGC.

UGC stands for user-generated content. Generally, it means content created by users rather than the original game developer.

So custom maps and community videos would both count?

Yep, depending on the platform and what it allows.

My UGC contribution is probably just terrible screenshots of my loadout.

Those are still content lmao.

Just remember that not every game supports every kind of user-created content. The platform determines what's actually possible.

Got it. Was mixing it up with custom game modifications. The UGC information page explains how that product is scoped on this site.
